WHO I AM.
Experienced fashion designer, and previous founder, passionate about creating regenerative textile systems.
My background is in working for 7 years to bring social change in the world, through social impact entrepreneurship, through founding my own company, and through supporting other com
panies.
I am interested in sustainability, regenerative agriculture and fashion. I am passionate about going beyond what is commonly perceived as sustainability in fashion.
As a designer, I think that where the material comes from, which material you use and the supply chains should be at the heart of garment creation. I think this is key to changing the narrative around fashion and giving it the meaning it can have.
WHAT I LIKE
I really appreciate working with entrepreneurially minded, creative and innovative people who are interested in rethinking existing structures and narratives and doing the necessary work to change them.
MOTIVATIONS TO APPLY TO THE CHALLENGE:
I deeply resonate with your vision, focused on finding ideas that can change fashion from a systemic point of view. This is also what interests me in my work as a designer and creator of Fashion With Care. I think that putting together different profiles that have this desire is very impact to solve the biggest challenge we have in the fashion industry.
Ever since I started thinking about sustainability in fashion 5 years ago, I have been looking for organizations, people, brands, and initiatives that were challenging the fashion industry to do things differently and use fashion for good to support the much-needed change I believe needs to happen in the fashion industry.
That's why I’m thrilled to be applying to the open call with my initiative Fashion With Care.
WHAT SUSTAINABILITY MEANS TO YOU:
Throughout my career, I have worked in the sustainability and impact-driven sector, and I am deeply passionate about going beyond what is commonly perceived as sustainability in fashion.
I think that where the material comes from, which material you use and the supply chains should be at the heart of garment creation. I think this is key to changing the narrative around fashion and giving it the meaning it can have.
To me, sustainability means putting the earth and people at the centre of every decision we take when creating each garment. It means working with farmers who improve the soil through regenerative agriculture, employing people who are treated emotionally and economically sustainably, choosing a material that is durable and treated to be durable, and finally creating a design that can last and be used for generations.
For me, sustainability means not only not destroying in the process of creation, but making sure that we regenerate and improve things through our creations.
