One of the selected designers for Parsons Benefit Show
Born in South Korea and received BFA degree in Fashion Design from Parsons the New School for Design, Seung is passionate about art, design, and communication.
Since she was 7 years old, she enjoyed art, especially abstract paintings and collage. Art inspires her to record, interpret, or even ana
lyze her ideas and feelings. From elementary school to high school, she has been participating many extracurricular activities and competitions to build her skills. Getting recognized by people through her artwork and performance sparked her passion more towards art. She came to America when she was 14 years old to achieve her dream of being an artist and designer. After getting accepted into Parsons, Seung apprenticed for Calvin Klein, Area NYC, and Cristina Ottaviano.
Seung believes fashion is artistic medium and wants to apply many elements of abstract painting and collage to her collection as a fashion designer. In her collection, she breaks the conventional design and gives freedom to people so that they can express themselves through fashion.
When she creates garments, she expresses her aesthetic sensibility through oversized shapes with bold colors. She likes to design unconventional clothes with geometric lines with refined details.
