Mirla Beane suit in Stylist Magazine
I am a womenswear designer with a large range of experience over the last 10+ years - across multi-product I have specialised in tailoring & outerwear and in softs/flou categories, whilst also working in high-end luxury brands to premium high street levels.
Within Design I'm well versed in draping
on the stand, tailoring mock-ups, high quality hand drawing skills, fittings, working with pattern cutters, tech packs, CADs, managing assistants and interns, following trend reports, researching, mood boards, sourcing and developing fabrics and trims at Premiere Vision/Milano Unica/London Textile Fair, and visits to fabric mills and clothing factories across Europe.
I'm proficient at Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
I also have organised and led photoshoots, ecom styling shoots, working with photographers and stylists, model casting; along with experience in leading members of the Fashion Press through collections at London Fashion Week.
Aside from clothing design I have also working on designing and building websites, logos/branding, packaging and labels. Through my experience I have also learned a lot on sustainability of fabrics and trims, their importance, and the delicate balance of MOQs and margins.
I am based in London but willing to relocate for the right position.
