Exploring the influence of the West Riding of Yorkshire on contemporary fashion, this exhibition brings together works from a range of fashion designer's and creatives
who have been inspired by the many elements that make the area unique. Drawing on themes such as landscape, community spirit, wit and humour and the enduring influence of the textile industry, this multi-disciplinary showcase celebrates the distinctive character of the place and the creative people connected to it. A curatorial collaboration between Leeds Arts University and Bankfield Museum has enabled an exciting opportunity to utilise the extensive fashion archive at the museum, positioning historical items alongside modern garments and fashion media.

As Lotherton opened the doors to celebrate 50 years as a museum this year, the latest exhibition to adorn the Fashion Galleries was revealed. Showcasing a selection of designers who all have a connection to Yorkshire, the exhibition features an incredibly diverse range of fashions and brand new garme
nts, including three outfits from Cunnington & Sanderson’s latest collection, Occupied.
Cunnington & Sanderson display a selection from their newest collection, Occupied, which showcases the pair’s signature sculptural silhouette. Combining irregular draping with creative pattern cutting, every garment is draped by hand and each piece unique. This collection has been made using locally produced fabric from Abraham Moons.
