My name is Marianna and I'm a knitwear designer.
I’m working as Knitwear designer at Vitelli, in Milan, from May 2021. I’m also taking care of the developing of the products and all the relations with the suppliers. I have the responsibility of the production after the sales campaign and I'm develo
ping knit fabrics experimenting from the yarns to the different techniques.
Before, I had a collaboration with the Knit Factory MELY’s, from Arezzo, where I worked for my collection “No Gender Requested” from October 2020 to January 2021.
I worked closely the Technical Production Manager of the Knitwear Factory Mely’s in Arezzo, for 4 months following all the process of production of my collection, from the technical sheets, to the trials of the stitches with different yarns, to the prototypes to the final garments.
I did my bachelor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, where I had my Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design. I spent the third year at the Coventry University as part of the Erasmus project. After the first graduation, I did an internship in the atelier of the Dutch designer Iris Van Herpen, in Amsterdam.
The year after, I worked as freelance for one year collaborating with a knitwear factory in Benevento, Maglificio Reme.
During my Bachelor’s degree in Fashion design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, I spent one year at the Coventry University in London as part of an Erasmus project.
I continued to gather abroad and hands-on experience in my internship at Iris van Herpen after graduation and consequently worked on broadening my pathway during a one year Freelance collaboration with a Knitwear factory in Benevento, Maglificio Reme.
Getting closer to the Knit world, winning a merit-based full scholarship offered by Max Mara gave me the opportunity to study and complete my Masters degree and complete the Masters in Creative Knitwear Design organised by the Accademia Costume & Moda, based in Rome, and the Modateca Deanna. Thanks to be in Modateca Deanna, I could have an amazing research about shapes and knit techniques visiting the archivio every day.
Cheerfulness, creativity, determination and dynamism, those are the words that are talking about me.
In my projects , I always put my crazy part, transmitting emotions through yarns, knots and fabrics, focusing on details.
