ALPHA is a non-profit initiative that supports fashion talents from the Nordics in the early stages after graduation. In collaboration with international fashion houses, retail institutions and museums, we support fashion talents who demonstrate high levels of originality, creativity and craftsmanship as well as designing for a responsible future.
10 finalists will be selected to present their graduate work at a joint fashion show at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Awarded designers receive internships along with support to produce a commercial collection, and will additionally be selected to be featured in exhibitions. Designers are selected by a panel of industry experts.
ALPHA is inviting applications from fashion graduates of BA and MA level who graduated from one of the following six Nordic schools in 2022:

PRIZES
MM6 Internship
One designer will be selected by the MM6 Maison Margiela team, and offered a paid internship in the studio of MM6 Margiela in Paris.
Browns Fashion Collaboration
One designer will be handpicked by Ida Petersson, Buying Director for Browns, to create a new collection to launch exclusively on Brownsfashion.com.
2023 EXHIBITION
A selection of designers will be featured in an exhibition to celebrate new Nordic fashion talent – a collaboration between ALPHA and the Röhsska Museum of Design and Craft in Gothenburg, Sweden.
ALPHA Award
The winner will receive 50.000 DKK along with a study trip to UEDA College of Fashion in Osaka and a unique trophy created by artist Karl Monies.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Stage 1
Apply by following the “Apply” link below.
Once you have entered the system, please create an ALPHA folder (this is highly important so the pre-selection panel knows which work to assess) under your profile with the required information from Stage 2.
Stage 2
Fill in the form online before 24 August by providing the following information in the designated sections:
1. CV
2. Description of your collection concept. Descriptions can also be added for each image.
3. Collection overview. Image with the total line-up of the collection.
4. Photos of the five outfits that you wish to enter into the competition.
5. Relevant research material, mock up and process images
Stage 3
An international selection panel will assess the material and select 10 finalists.
By September 2022, the finalists will be contacted directly with an invitation to participate in the award show in Copenhagen that will take place during Copenhagen Fashion Week in January/February 2022 (date TBC).
The application material is handled exclusively by our digital partner Eyes on Talents, an invite-only online platform that connects innovative brands with the best fashion talents. The finalists will remain on the Eyes on Talents platform after the selection process.
